So, Captain Crampon, Chris (Liquid Adventures) and I took some newly acquired paddleboards down Resurrection River, a 7 mile long braided river system in the area. I have this to say; paddleboarding rules.

For those unfamiliar with the topic, paddleboarding (also know as SUP, short for stand up paddling) involves a durable, large-format surfboard on which the paddler stands up and uses a long paddle for propulsion and steering. Our paddleboards are inflatable, so that means that unlike fiberglass boards that can shatter on impact, our boards can run rivers and rapids without taking damage.

This sport is new to me, but I have to say that I'm hooked. Look for more posts in the future about this as we find more rivers to run in the area. The perspective that you get from standing on the water feels, for some reason, entirely different than that of a kayak or a boat. It's also really challenging to stay on the board and keep balance in the swirling water. It's engaging, challenging, and awesome.

Thanks so much to Chris from Liquid Adventures for paddling with us and for clueing us into this awesome sport in the first place. Oh, and thanks to Jeff for his gracious loan of his drysuit while mine is waiting on repair.
